"We see the consequences around us every day. Patients are waiting longer for appointments, driving hours for care or being sent out of state for care. Physicians are choosing to practice in other states with less hostile malpractice laws."

New Mexico has a very real health care crisis and it affects EVERYONE. Read more of Dr. Mark Epstein's Op-Ed below.

New Mexico is out of balance compared to other states when it comes to our medical malpractice system. NM has more large claims (above $500,000) per 1,000 physicians than our neighboring states and the national average.

This makes it difficult to recruit and retain health care providers. 💔

NM is an outlier compared to other states when it comes to our medical malpractice system. NM has more large claims (above $500,000) per 1,000 physicians than our neighboring states and the national average.

This makes it difficult to recruit and retain health care workers.💔
